Shuttleworth House is only 15 minutes away from me so it was an easy drive over in the morning of Stacy and Ollie’s wedding. I joined Stacy and her Mum and bridesmaids in the pink room while my second shooter Rachel spent the morning with Ollie and his parents and groomsmen. It was a really lovely, relaxed morning ending with one of the most emotional father of the bride first looks – tissues were much needed! The ceremony was held at Elstow Abbey which luckily had enough space for the wedding car right at the front door because it was sadly pouring with rain at this point. By the time Stacy and Ollie were married it had brightened up a little so we were able to do confetti outside the church before heading back to Shuttleworth for the reception. Rachel and I took the opportunity to get lots of detail shots of the wedding breakfast room at this point, it was looking beautiful and the flowers by Kate Wren Flowers were absolutely stunning! Stacy and Ollie waited in the car until their guests were all inside and then made a grand entrance (after we did some car photos, of course!) to their drinks reception. We made use of the shelter on the steps at the front of the house for group photos and then thankfully the rain stopped again for us to do some portraits in the gardens. I really love the grotto in the gardens at Shuttleworth when it’s all green and lush (such a plant obsessive) so we headed in there and we also stopped at the blooming purple rhododendrons as they looked so nice! The house itself was giving Bridgerton vibes so we made use of it for some portraits too. After dinner the guests managed to spot some planes flying past as there was an air event on at Shuttleworth so that was a nice bonus to an amazing wedding day!
Shuttleworth House Wedding
Jane was so relaxed on the day, blended in and took the most amazing pictures. In the lead up to the day I was really nervous about the possibility of rain and it was Jane’s calm advice and talk with me that more than anything helped me to relax about the whole thing.
