I knew from the very first zoom meeting with Ben and Lottie that this was going to be an epic day! They were both so passionate about their ideas and wedding plans and that is always a sign of a great day ahead. I was also really excited to try the vegan burgers that they had chosen for their guests… I spent the morning with Lottie at her parent’s house in Bedford. Lottie had some really sweet gifts for her bridesmaids and her Mum, and opened her gift from Ben. I absolutely love that kettle chips were part it! The morning flew by and Lottie was soon being helped into her dress and doing a first look with her Dad as she came down the stairs. I always think there’s something extra special about getting ready at your family home! The ceremony was taking place in St Owen’s Church in Bromham so I made a hasty exit at this point so I could make it over there ahead of Lottie and the bridesmaids in the VW camper. I met with Ben at the church and we got some shots of him looking nervous before I headed back outside to see Lottie arriving. They had a beautiful service with just the right amount of smiles and tears. The rain that had been threatening all morning decided to start just as we were about to do confetti so there was a bit of an anxious wait in the church doorway but we caught a break in time for a quick confetti run into the camper. Their reception venue was Colmworth Jetty, a really stunning waterside venue in Bedfordshire. They had a gorgeous tipi set up with old cameras and books, plenty florals and fairy lights, a cute phone guest book and my favourite – a crisp wall! Luckily I got a picture of this quickly as it was a total hit. We got started with group photos fairly soon after arriving at the Jetty as although the earlier rain had stopped, the clouds were looking very threatening. And sure enough, just as we wrapped up Ben and Lottie’s couple shots we got trapped in the actual jetty shelter as it poured it down around us. The lovely Roxy from Blank Canvas Planning – planner, co-ordinator and absolute superstar – had to save us with some brollies! We rushed back into the tipi for speeches and some delicious vegan burgers! Lottie and Ben were really keen to do smoke bombs so we headed over to the other side of the lake to have some fun with those as the sun was setting. They were serving his n hers cocktails when we got back and toasting marshmallows, a perfect start to the evening! It was still light after the first dance which can be tricky to get people onto the dance floor but it was soon full with a little help from some classics!
Colmworth Jetty Bedfordshire Wedding

Jane was so relaxed on the day, blended in and took the most amazing pictures. In the lead up to the day I was really nervous about the possibility of rain and it was Jane’s calm advice and talk with me that more than anything helped me to relax about the whole thing.
