Bassmead Manor Barns is a stunning Cambridgeshire wedding venue whatever the weather but it was looking particularly perfect on this extremely hot day in June for Sophie and Harri’s wedding. This was definitely one of my sunniest weddings of 2024! I’d met up with Sophie and Harri a few months before in the woods with their dogs for their pre wedding shoot and I was really looking forward to seeing them celebrate their wedding. Because it was such a beautiful day we lots of time to play with in terms of portraits which meant they could have a very relaxed drinks reception and really enjoy the afternoon. We did some portraits before dinner but decided to wait until after to make the most of the evening light. Everybody came outside after dinner to enjoy drinks in the gardens, this is one of my favourite perks of summer weddings! I love the extra time for candids outside. It can sometimes be a bit of a mission getting people on the dance floor when the weather is like this but the band were amazing and there was a dedicated team of guests who made sure it was never empty! A brilliant day!
